EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg in eastern France has introduced self-check-in services for selected airlines as part of its ongoing modernization efforts, as outlined in a report in the trade journal Passenger Terminal Today. The system allows passengers to print boarding passes and baggage tags at kiosks and then drop off their luggage at designated self-bag-drop stations, with the goal of reducing wait times and improving the overall travel experience.

The airport has already deployed 24 check-in kiosks and 14 self-service bag-drop units. The expansion of self-service check-in will be implemented gradually in collaboration with airlines and handling agents. Airport officials indicated that additional integrations and improvements are already being planned as part of a broader effort to modernize passenger processing and streamline airport operations.
