FreeWire Technologies, a provider of battery-integrated electric vehicle charging stations and power solutions, has joined Parkland Corp., a fuel distributor and retailer with operations in 25 countries, to provide charging stations across British Columbia, Canada, according to a press release.

The companies will help meet Canada's goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.

The initial phase will deploy FreeWire's Boost Charger 150 kW EV charging stations at 25 sites from Victoria to Calgary. Charging locations were selected to provide a service station in locations along major thoroughfares.

The charger plugs into existing low-voltage utility services and delivers charging that typically requires extensive site improvements and grid upgrades.

FreeWire Boost Chargers integrate with Parkland's Journie Rewards App and loyalty programs. Charging will be free for drivers using the app to initiate the charge during the first launch phase.
