Residents of Douglas, Johnson, Wyandotte, Crawford, Reno and Segwick counties in Kansas will have access to free naloxone from vending machines under a statewide program, according to a kmuw.org report.
DCCCA, a Lawrence, Kansas-based social and community services provider, will provide the machines which will allow residents to access products by inputing their zip codes. The machines will also off fentanyl test strips.
Funding will come from several sources, including Healthy Blue, an initiative from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, and state and local opioid settlement funds.
