Sally Cohen and Jackie Huffman, who have more than 20 years total experience as human factors consultants, have created their own consulting firm, Usable Designs Consulting (UDC), to focus in part on customer experience issues in the kiosk sector.
UDC will specialize in the kiosk, customer service, Internet and Intranet, and point-of-sale sectors. Services will include user needs analysis, user interface design, expert reviews, usability testing, on-site evaluation, and training.
Cohen and Huffman have been working in the kiosk sector for the past seven years; Huffman most recently worked as a senior sales consultant for NCR Corp. in Duluth, Ga. The two have also contributed columns for KIOSKmarketplace (See story: How to improve the kiosk's user experience).
