Florida county seeks bids for hybrid automated/manned toll booths

Volusia County, Florida will solicit sealed proposals for a hybrid automated and manned toll collection service for tollbooths at Volusia County beach and park access locations, according to a press release.

Proposals must include procurement, installation, operations, management and maintenance of a revenue control system.

Proposals must also detail all related equipment including a secured contractor-hosted payment website for digital ticketing and pass sales.

Contractors must be able to provide real-time toll status updates to the public and staffing to provide toll collection services.

The contractor must be able to manage the current ticketing system until the proposed hybrid system is implemented.

A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday.
