First Wave updates software

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A new version of First Wave Inc.'s kiosk development software will begin shipping to customers in April. First Wave's Kiosk Communicator 2.5 features more than 60 enhancements, including credit card encryption for transmission over telephone lines or the Internet.

The software enhancements include more multimedia functionality, and can be used in a variety of applications, including information kiosks, product displays and gift registries.

First Wave's customers include Kids R Us, Walt Disney Records and Whirlpool. The company was formed 10 years ago.
