The Bong Naturalist Association has recovered the firewood sales it lost due to COVID-19 by installing a firewood vending machine, according to a Kenosha News report.

The association installed the machine at Richard Bong State Recreation Area in Brighton, Wisconsin in March of 2021.

Customers use card swipes to open the compartment where firewood has been prepared for collection. The machine does not accept cash.

Sales from the machine exceeded expectations, and rose nearly 60% compared to prior average sales.
