Ferris produces VR for Olympic tour

ARLINGTON, Texas - Ferris Productions Inc., a virtual reality entertainment company, will produce a 360-degreee, first-person virtual experience of the 120K ski jump at the Winter Olympics venue near Salt Lake City, according to a news release issued by GameCom.

The exhibit will be a part of the "Chevrolet Olympic Torch City Celebration Tour", which will focus on the U.S. Olympic Ski Team and will follow the Winter Olympic Torch through nearly 60 American cities prior to the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.

Ferris is scheduled to be acquired by GameCom, an interactive Internet gaming company. The acquisition, announced in April, is expected to be approved by GameCom's board of directors on Sept. 14.

According to the release, Ferris' virtual reality projects are the first to be used in the promotional advertising industry. A year ago, it sponsored a similar project for the "Buick LeSabre Drive with Confidence Tour". It also is working with to produce the "Red Baron Pizza Stearman Squadron Tour."
