Eyebot, a developer of self-serve vision testing technology, has secured $6 million in seed funding. The round was led by AlleyCorp and Ubiquity Ventures, with participation from existing investors Baukunst and Village Global, according to a press release.

Eyebot's technology allows users to complete an accurate vision test in 90 seconds, without needing assistance from an eye doctor. This eliminates a major hurdle for people who need corrective eyewear but struggle to find the time or resources for a traditional eye exam, according to the company

"Eyebot's cutting-edge technology transforms vision care to be more accessible than ever before," Matthias Hofmann, PhD, Eyebot founder and CEO, said in the release.

The company will use the funding for product development, staff expansion and brand expansion. Eyebot has orders from leading eyewear brands and is planning a wider rollout in 2025, according to the release.

Key features of Eyebot's technology:

  • Fast and efficient: Provides accurate prescriptions in just 90 seconds.
  • User-friendly: Designed for self-service operation.
  • Increased accessibility: Integrates vision care into retail spaces, allowing for same-day eye exams, prescriptions and eyewear purchases.
  • High throughput: Freestanding kiosks can perform hundreds of tests per day.
