Experts praise India's 'Hole in the Wall' computer kiosk for slum kids

Unicef.org: A kiosk project in India was praised at the fifth annual Web4Dev conference at Unicef House, where technology experts, academics, United Nations officials and innovators gathered to discuss ways mobile and online technologies can fight poverty and disease. Dr. Sugata Mitra's "Hole in the Wall experiment" placed a computer in a wall kiosk in the impoverished Kalkaji district of Delhi, India, so children could use the computer freely. The children's success showed they could master technology even without formal training.
