Exhibitors to meet record number of attendees at The Kiosk Show

August 31, 2004

More than 700 individuals and companies have requested passes to attend The Kiosk Show in Boston Oct. 7-8.

NetWorld Alliance, which recently acquired The Kiosk Show in a broader deal with Voyagi Inc., said the number more than triples last year's attendance, about 200 people.

At The Kiosk Show, component manufacturers aren't allowed to exhibit unless they partner with other suppliers to present a full-service kiosk solution. This policy ensures attendees will find exhibitors offering complete solutions, rather than a plethora of partial solutions with some assembly required. In addition, for the benefit of the exhibitors, all attendees are pre-qualified as end-user/buyers of kiosk solutions.

"We find this to be a win-win situation, where the attendees are able to find a type of kiosk system that can be easily evaluated for their business, and - from the full-solution, provider/integrator side - find a customer base they know is all potential end-user customers," said Lief Larson, founder and now co-organizer of the event.

The show also provides seminars for new and advanced users. The in-depth educational sessions are designed to help cut the learning curve and ensure the greatest possibility for success with attendees' kiosk programs.

Twelve seminars in concurrent pairs will be held the day of the event: three introductory-level sessions, six sessions designed for moderate users, and three sessions for advanced users. All of the presentations will help attendees discover how best to use technology to enhance the customer experience, generate and increase sales and create return users.

As part of the show plan, seminar attendees will be invited on a TechnoTour. The tour's format relates to the presentation topic covered and allows attendees to investigate and experiment with kiosk solutions. Attendees will leave the show having been educated by experts in this field, and will have collected the process and product information necessary to launch their own kiosk programs, Larson said.

Expected attendees include representatives from some of the largest airlines, manufacturers, and hospitality and retail operations in the U.S.
