EV owners in southern Maine were unable to charge at EVgo charging stations Thursday on account of an outage affecting hundreds of EV charging stations nationwide, according to a bangordailynews.com report.
An EVgo customer service representative said hundreds of chargers in the nationwide network of 850 chargers were not working from California to Florida.
"Thursday, a telecommunications issue caused by a third-party provider took some of our chargers offline temporarily," Pavlos Politopoulos, senior vice president, customer experience at EVgo, told Kiosk Marketplace in an email statement Monday. "We worked with the telecommunications provider to resolve the issue within a few hours and all impacted chargers were all up and running that same day. Our 24/7 customer support team, the EVgo Charging Crew, is available to help drivers find alternate chargers and the EVgo app is also updated in real-time."
