In New York City, several mobility startups are addressing the lack of urban EV charging availability for taxis, ride-hailing fleets and delivery vehicles in addition to homeowners, according to an axiom.com report. These include:
- Gravity Mobility has developed a solution for cramped parking garages. Its 24-space, fast-charging hub will debut this spring on West 42nd Street in Manhattan.
- Revel, which operates a Tesla-based ride-hailing service and rents mopeds, opened a 25-plug charging site in Brooklyn last summer.
- Beam Global has deployed 89 off-grid, renewable charging pads for the city's municipal fleets, with each unit generating and storing its solar and wind power without taking up parking spaces.
