EV charging network grows, reliability improves in 2024

The U.S. electric vehicle charging network experienced substantial growth and improved reliability in 2024, according to a study by Paren, referenced by Green Car Reports. During the peak travel week of Thanksgiving, charging sessions increased by nearly 50%, paralleled by a similar growth in the number of available charging connectors.
The study also revealed a significant improvement in charger reliability, reaching an 85.5% success rate. The trend addresses a major concern for EV owners and supports the increasing adoption of electric vehicles.
The expansion of the charging infrastructure is attributed in part to government funding initiatives aimed at bolstering the nation's EV charging network.
