EV charger with detachable cord debuts in NYC

Hyundai Cradle, an open innovation hub for Hyundai Motor Group, has teamed with itselectric, a New York City-based electric vehicle curbside charging company, and the New York City Economic Development Corp. to introduce EV curbside charging stations at the Brooklyn Army Terminal that feature a detachable charging cord, the first in North America, according to the press release.

The itselectric technology brings EV charging to urban neighborhoods using a revenue sharing model and aligns with Hyundai's objective of democratizing electric vehicle technology.

The pilot is a result of itselectric being named as a finalist in Hyundai Cradele's EV Open Innovation Challenge.
