ORLANDO, Fla. -- In celebration of ESPN's 25th anniversary, six interactive kiosks have been set up throughout Walt Disney World Resort that allow guests to be a part of ESPN's
"Season of the Fan." According to a Disney news release, each kiosk includes a built-in camera, which allows guests to upload a picture of themselves to the ESPN.com Web site. The photos will be used on personalized versions of the ESPN Web site, while some images are also likely be used in ESPN advertisements throughout the year.
The six kiosks at Walt Disney World Resort are located at The ESPN Club at Disney's BoardWalk, Team Mickey Athletic Club at Downtown Disney Marketplace and Innoventions at Epcot. Each location offers a pair of kiosks, one for adults and another for children that is also wheelchair-accessible. The kiosks will be available for guests throughout ESPN's 25th anniversary celebration, which concludes in mid-September.
The user-friendly kiosks allow guests to register a user name and password on the ESPN25 Web site using a keyboard and track ball. Once guests register their information and upload a portrait-style photo, they can create a personalized trading card featuring their name and face.
Guests can log onto the ESPN25 Web site from their personal computers to view their individual photos. Many ESPN25 fan photos have also been featured in recent print advertisements, including photo mosaics of Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, John McEnroe and Mike Tyson.
Walt Disney World guests who visit the ESPN25 kiosks can also receive up-to-the-minute scores and highlights or sign up for newsletters and other updates from ESPN and Walt Disney World Resort.
