Today at the National Retail Federation's 103rd Annual Convention and EXPO, Epson America, Inc., a supplier of Point of Sale solutions, shows retailers a wide range of partner solutions that demonstrate the configuration flexibility of its OmniLink DT-Series smart devices. Featuring POS printing, web server, print server, peripheral connectivity and PC computing power, Epson's OmniLink DT-Series smart devices are powerful enough to serve as an entire POS system yet small enough to fit almost anywhere, according to the company.
"Mobile and cloud technologies are transforming POS architecture, footprint and functionality, and we — along with our partners — are leading the way," said Gregg Brunnick, director of marketing for Epson's Business Systems Division. "With OmniLink, Epson provides the bridge between legacy and mobile POS, enabling retailers to evolve as quickly as they want to best serve their customers."
According to the company, Epson's OmniLink DT-Series is designed for retailers looking to implement any number of POS configurations to gain the benefits of flexible POS functionality. The devices include a retail-hardened PC powered by an Intel Atom 1.8GHz processor. In addition, the DT-Series features six USB ports for connecting POS peripherals like scanners, keyboards, displays, and cash drawers. It also supports mobile POS deployments with the added capability of a built-in web server and Epson’s ePOS-print technology for driverless web-based printing.
