FREMONT, Calif. - Heeding a call to create new technologies that eat us less space and power, touchscreen manufacturer Elo TouchSystems has introduced a new controller chip for its AccuTouch five-wire resistive touch technology line.
The COACh IIs chip is 12.15 millimeters by 12.15 millimeters. The chip can operate at both 3.3 and five volts and incorporates a power-down mode that reduces power consumption by as much as 95 percent, according to the company.
"Elo developed the COACh IIs in response to a market that is moving to smaller and more company products requiring lower power consumption and more sophisticated design," Frank Shen, Elo strategic market manager, said in a news release.
