Elo intros multi-function, integrated touchmonitor

November 12, 2003

FREMONT, Calif. -- Elo TouchSystems Inc. has launched the 1229L 12-inch LCD multi-function integrated touchmonitor.

The monitor has options for a magnetic stripe reader, a rear-facing LED customer display and a biometric fingerprint-recognition device.

The 1229L multi-function integrated touchmonitor can be configured for applications in the retail, hospitality, medical, gaming and amusement markets, where its compact design saves work space, according to a news release.

The 1229L is available with a choice of Elo touch technologies: IntelliTouch surface-wave, AccuTouch five-wire resistive, and CarrollTouch infrared.

"The 1229L is a continuation of Elo's commitment to increased value in new products," says Paul Wiener, Elo's marketing manager.

"Its multi-function options are integrated ergonomically into the housing and designed to flow with the elegant styling of the monitor. We have reduced the number of peripheral power and communication cables as well as power bricks by incorporating the connectivity inside the monitor."
