Elo introducing new monitors in Europe

February 21, 2004

KESSEL-LO, Belgium - Elo TouchSystems Inc., seeking to enhance its standing as a gaming kiosk touchscreen manufacturer in Europe, will introduce its new line of CRT open-frame gaming monitors on the continent in January.

The monitors will debut at the ATEI London show Jan. 22-24. Evaluation samples of the machines are currently available. The new line comes in 15-, 17-, and 19-inch models. The monitors were introduced in the United States during the World Gaming Congress Oct. 17-19 in Las Vegas.

The monitors, available with or without touchscreen technology, feature a smaller footprint than earlier designs. The main electronics board is 20 centimeters by 25 centimeters.

"Our new gaming monitors are designed as a direct result of feedback from game developers," Mike Sigona, Elo gaming market manager, said in a news release. "We responded to their needs by delivering a line of high-quality monitors with new features and greater reliability."

Elo TouchSystems is a division of Tyco Electronics and has regional offices in Asia, Europe, South America, and Australia.
