FREMONT, Calif. -- Elo TouchSystems, global provider of touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, released its new 17-inch LCD touch monitor that includes a three-stripe, ergonomically placed magnetic stripe reader (MSR).
The 1725L with MSR expands Elo's existing family of 12-inch and 15-inch multifunction touch monitors, according to a news release. The MSR is incorporated into the monitor housing, and designed to flow with the styling of the monitor.
The new monitor, an enhanced version of Elo's popular Entuitive 1525L 15-inch LCD touch monitor with MSR, is available with a USB or serial connection for use with Elo's AccuTouch five-wire resistive or IntelliTouch surface-wave touch technologies.
The new 1725L with MSR is targeted toward applications that require the use of credit/debit cards, loyalty cards and other card transactions.
Elo has positioned the MSR unit on the top right corner of its 1725L LCD touch monitor so that the user can swipe the card flat with a natural action.
