FREMONT, Calif. -- Elo TouchSystems Inc., a business unit of Tyco Electronics, announced its new 1247L, a 12.1-inch LCD rear-mount touchmonitor. This extend Elo's range of chassis LCD touchmonitors from 12.1-inch to 18-inch products.
The new 1247L has a higher brightness, better contrast and wider viewing angle than many 12-inch LCDs in the marketplace, with up to 800 x 600 resolution at 75 Hz, according to a news release.
The 1247L features an injection-molded mini bezel and watertight seal. The seal is about 0.5 mm thick. The field-replaceable mini bezel forms a watertight faceplate seal to keep liquids and dirt away from the electronics. This makes the 1247L an option for small form factor, public-access and industrial applications.
"All of our LCD chassis touchmonitors have a long-lasting product cycle because the touchmonitor enclosure is controlled by Elo's specifications," said Paul Wiener, Elo's marketing manager. "Future panel enhancements are possible without external changes."
The 1247L comes standard with the picture quality of IntelliTouch pure glass surface-wave touch technology for finger or gloved-hand operation. For applications requiring monitor sizes greater than 12.1 inches, SecureTouch vandal- resistant, surface-wave technology or AccuTouch five-wire resistive technology are also available.
The 1247L has a multi-lingual remote on-screen display; multiple mounting options, including rear mount or VESA mount; an auto-switching power supply; and worldwide agency approvals, the release said.
Electronic files, showing the design in three dimensions, are available to OEMs incorporating Elo chassis monitors.
