Electronics maker Flextronics lays off 150 workers in Louisville

(Louisville, Ky.) Courier-Journal: Electronics maker Flextronics plans to eliminate about 150 jobs at its global services unit inLouisville, according to a filing with the state. The company, which makes electronics components for products such as computer network routers and mobile phones, disclosed the job cuts in a notice to the Kentucky Cabinet for Workforce Development. The layoffs come less than two years after Flextronics acquired main competitorSolectron, making the company the world's second-largest electronics manufacturing and self-service powerhouse, trailing only Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. in terms of annual sales, according to Forbes.
