ECRS produces industry's smallest self-checkout kiosk

May 12, 2010

ECR Software Corporation (ECRS) announced that its QUICKcheck kiosk is the smallest self-checkout unit available to retailers that retains full-size unit functionality, including automatic weight security and cash back.

The QUICKcheck kiosk measures 41 inches wide by 17 inches deep with a shopping basket platform and 29 inches wide by 17 inches deep without it, making it the smallest self-checkout unit with built-in weight security on the market today.

"Smaller is only better if it works," ECRS President & CEO Peter Catoe said. "Retailers need security, reliability, and powerful functionality — anything less is a disservice to our customers."

The self-checkout unit's patented L-shaped, self-learning weight scale enhances security for all purchase transactions. Other features include ATM cash back capability, infrared touchscreen technology, customer controlled audio volume, patented multi-item scanning, an intuitive user interface, optional attendant workstation, software flexibility and customizable design options.
