ecoATM Gazelle launches device-recycling kiosks in New York City

May 9, 2019

In a partnership with Davids Check Cashing, ecoATM Gazelle has launched a nationwide network of payment-for-electronic kiosks in New York City.

The kiosks, according to a ParkNews blog, will be located in Davids Check Cashing locations and provide users with a trade-in service for smartphones, iPads, iPods and other electronic devices, with immediate payment.

"Expanding into America's largest city brings ecoATM Gazelle's financially and environmentally conscious way of instantly trading-in consumer electronic devices to millions of more people and furthers our mission as a company to reduce e-waste production globally," said Yanyan Ji, senior vice president of marketing and general manager of e-commerce at ecoATM Gazelle, according to the blog post.

Each device is evaluated using a machine vision system, robotic electrical diagnostics and an artificial intelligence system, according to the blog post.
