East Side Endoscopy, based in New York City, has recently deployed check-in kiosks through a partnership with health care technology company Clearwave Corp. The goal of this deployment is to make the registration process simpler for visitors, according to the press release.
Staff can use the kiosk to schedule a patient's appointment and check their information with real-time updates, according to the release. It uses optical character recognition to read patients' drivers licenses and insurance cards. The kiosk can also be integrated into health care systems including Allscripts, Athena, Greenway, GE and more.
"Clearwave has reduced the time it takes our staff to check patients in, allowing our staff more time to give our patients the attention they deserve," said Helen Lowenwirth, administrator, East Side Endoscopy. "And the real-time eligibility updates are really helpful for our schedulers when they are on the phone with a patient; we can tell the patient everything they need to know about their next visit in one phone call, and it makes the patients feel much more prepared."
"East Side Endoscopy's care for the health of their community makes it an honor to be their partner. To partner with a center that gives so much back to their own community reminds us of why we built this solution," said Eric Anderson, COO, Clearwave Corp. "Our mission and goal is to reduce the administrative burden on practices so they can focus on caring for their patients. Clearwave helps East Side Endoscopy get back to what’s important, and that's providing a great service."
