Dubai residents now have a fast way to pay off their speeding tickets since the Dubai Police have recently deployed bill payment kiosks across the United Arab Emirates to pay for police fines, according to a report by Gulf News. The deployment was made possible due to a partnership between the Dubai Police's Smart Services Department and kiosk company Max Box Middle East.

"In addition to the pre-existing 1,000 kiosks, there are 21 kiosks that will be distributed at Dubai police stations and other popular areas that will have the Dubai Police brand and logo," said Colonel Khalid Al Razooqi, director of the Smart Service Department. "Five of these have already been placed and the rest are expected to be placed by the end of the month."

Unlike previous kiosks, these kiosks also accept cash payment. According to Richard White, general manager of MBME, most UAE citizens prefer to use cash to other forms of payment.

"It is the culture here," White said. "Some people also find it more convenient, some do not have great faith in the process and fear something would go wrong, and for some it is just a habit, years of paying in cash."

According to Al Razooqi, the police are also working with MBME to provide more services at the kiosks including requests for changing a vehicle's color and requesting a night work permit.
