Dubai installs transportation ticket dispensing kiosks, solar powered information screens

The Dubai transportation authority has deployed ticket vending machines for the first time, according to an menafin.com report.

The machines have CCTV cameras for the security and a change-return feature for when the banknotes received are higher than the chargeable amount, said Khalid Al Awadhi, director of transportation systems, Public Transport Agency, RTA.

The authority has also installed 133 solar powered passenger information screens to display real-time updates of arrival times at 13 bus stations and five bus stops.
