A self-service kiosk for driver's license and ID renewals has been installed at the Sevier County Courthouse in Sevier County, Tennessee.

This is the first such kiosk in Sevier County and part of a statewide initiative by the Tennessee Department of Safety that began in 2024, according to a report by The Mountain Press.

The kiosk, located near the central courthouse entrance across from the sheriff's office, offers several services:

  • Renewing a driver's license or photo ID.
  • Requesting a duplicate ID.
  • Changing an address.
  • Upgrading a graduated driver's license to an intermediate unrestricted license.
  • Paying license reinstatement fees.

The machine accepts credit or debit card payments but does not take cash or checks.

"Any way we can provide the resources and make them more accessible to the public is great," Bryan McCarter, vice mayor, told the news outlet.
