Dolch gets tough with new touchscreens

June 25, 2002

FREMONT, Calif. -- Industrial PC platform supplier Dolch has released a new line of rugged touchscreen displays and workstations designed for industrial applications in difficult environments.

Dolch's RuggedTouch touchscreen is available in 12-inch, 15-inch, and 18-inch LCD screens. The product comes with Dolch's EnhancedInfrared touch displays. The displays are immune to surface cuts and wear, according to company officials, and come with a five-year warranty.

The system also comes in a RuggedTouch Plus model, which includes a rear-mounted ATX computer featuring as many as six expansion slots, along with an Intel Pentium III 1.2 GHz processor, 30GB hard drive, and 256MB of RAM. The system can be upgraded.

"While the demand for rugged touchscreen products for industrial applications continues to grow, truly rugged touchscreens that can not only survive, but excel, in extremely harsh and hazardous environments remain hard to find," Jim Ciardella, Dolch president, said in a news release.
