FREMONT, Calif. - Industrial computer manufacturer Dolch Computer Systems has acquired kiosk manufacturer Touch Controls Inc., the company announced on Oct. 15. Terms of the deal were not disclosed and Dolch did not say if any jobs would be eliminated due to the acquisition.
Based in Fallbrook, Calif., Touch Controls creates workstations, computers, and touchscreens for industrial settings. The company's also offers software, enclosure design, and manufacturing in its public access kiosk division.
"Touch Controls represents a natural evolution for the Dolch brand," Dolch president Jim Ciardella said in a news release. "There is strong market demand for rugged display products that can survive in extremely harsh and hazardous environments. Until now we were unable to find a suitable partner to meet that demand."
