DOE seeks to update vending machine test procedures

The U.S. Department of Energy has proposed amending the test procedures for refrigerated canned beverage or bottled vending machines, according to a National Automatic Merchandising Association weekly legislative report.

The department also wants to require manufacturers to provide instructions to set up non-beverage shelves, update temperature requirements, require testing for certain payment mechanisms in addition to other requirements.

NAMA will provide comments on the proposed rule's impact on both operators and manufacturers.
