Digi launches low-cost cellular router

Digi International today introduced the Digi TransPort WR21, a low-cost, enterprise-class 2.5G/3G/4G cellular router for network back-up and remote device connectivity applications. It is ideal for connecting remote devices in energy management, medical, industrial, point-of-sale, kiosk, lottery and financial applications and is available in standard and enterprise-class software versions, according to a company press release.

The compact, flexible router offers feature sets which scale from basic connectivity to high-end routing with advanced functionality such as dynamic routing, security and firewall capabilities and optional two-port Ethernet switch, said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of global sales marketing, Digi International.

"No other router offers the same level of high-end functionality and flexibility for a similar price," he said. "The Digi TransPort WR21 offers enterprise-class functionality in a compact commercial-grade form factor for less than the price of most basic cellular modems. From remote industrial applications to remote site network back-up, customers can choose the right solution to fit their needs."
