Several parking kiosks in Detroit are being removed after business owners complained that the kiosks were hurting business. The kiosks were installedin six Detroit neighborhoods in September, but now they are being removed from southwest Detroit, according to a report by Click On Detroit.
Business owners in the area claimed that the kiosks were driving away potential customers, and that the kiosks were not generating enough money for the city to justify their costs.
The city will continue to enforce parking in the areas with operational kiosks. Violators will be charged $45 in fines.
