The city of Detroit is installing kiosks at city hall and other facilities to handle all transactions, including cash, check, or credit cards as part of an effort to allow residents to pay for services virtually, according to WYX-TV report. The initiative includes online payments for building codes enforcement and inspection, as well as public works, which includes trash collection and taxpayer services.
Residents will not be available to pay for EMS services or car impoundment since they are handled by outside vendors, the report noted.
