Des Moines to replace parking meters with multi-space kiosks

The city of Des Moines will replace 3,000-plus parking meters in the coming years with multi-spot kiosks and a mobile payment system, according to a Des Moines Register report. The city will replace parking meters with identification markers.

Meters will be replaced by identification markers, and people will have the option of paying either through a mobile app or at one of the roughly 400 parking kiosks that will serve multiple parking spaces. The installations will begin next spring.
