DENVER-After parking pay-station kiosks from one company failed, the city has found a reliable alternative with Parkeon of New Jersey.
Parkeon will supply 72 kiosks for the city's Cherry Creek North shopping district, said district spokeswoman Christina Brickley, in an interview with the Rocky Mountain News.
The newspaper reported the original kiosks bought for the highly congested shopping district failed an operational test in October, and the city ordered them returned and the contract canceled.
The kiosks permit drivers to pay for their parking permits with a credit card, coins or tokens. Parking will cost $1 per hour, with a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of three hours.
The city did not disclose the purchase price for the self-service machines.
