ATLANTA -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) announced the launch of an interline ticketing agreement with Houston-based Continental Airlines, extending the convenience of electronic ticketing to customers who travel on Delta and Continental in the same itinerary.
According to a news release, Delta also has interline electronic ticketing in place with American, United and Northwest airlines.
"With interline electronic ticketing, customers have the control and flexibility of changing itineraries between Delta, Continental, American, Northwest and United -- without exchanging their electronic ticket for a paper ticket," said Lee Macenczak, Delta senior vice president, sales & distribution.
Air travelers can use this self-service check-in ticketing procedure at more than 440 kiosks in 81 U.S. cities serviced by Delta. (See related story "Delta to rely more on kiosks, phone banks for check-in.")
