ATLANTA - Delta Air Lines, which suspended its check-in kiosk program in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, has reinstated the program.
The kiosks, available to members of Delta's SkyMiles frequent flyer program, allow passengers to check in, print out electronic ticket receipts, and access flight information. When the program was suspended, it was available in 21 airports throughout the United States, including New York City and Chicago.
Delta announced on Oct. 10 that, in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration rules, passengers will be permitted just one carry-on bag and one personal item for Delta and Delta Connection flights. The airline planned to operate a full schedule of domestic and international flights on Oct. 8.
The airline advised that passengers should arrive at least two hours before flights, carry some form of government-issued ID, and possess flight documentation.
