The Delhi airport in India has installed five biometric registration kiosks for faster immigration processing, according to a Business Standard report. The kiosks specifically serve foreign nationals who have gotten a visa without submitting biometric information during the initial application process.
"The kiosks, established by [Delhi International Airport Limited], would be operated under direct supervision of the Bureau of Immigration. After registering biometric at the kiosk, time taken by immigration agent/officer at the counter will be minimized by more than 50%," GMR Airports Group told the news outlet.
Prior to the kiosk installation, visa-holders needing to complete biometric registration would need to stand in line at a designated immigration counter, which could lead to longer delays during peak hours.
