The Delaware Lottery has begun installing self-serve lottery ticket kiosks at more than 40 Wawa sites, marking the first time customers can buy tickets at the stores since they tested over-the-counter ticket sales nearly 20 years ago, according to delawareonline.com.
The kiosks, which accept payment cards, will offer most of what is offered to over-the-counter buyers, including keno. The kiosks will not offer sports betting.
Vernon Kirk, Delaware Lottery director, said the machines will generate an extra $6 million.
Scientific Games provided a total of 100 kiosks, Kirk said; 57 machines will be placed at retailers other than Wawa. The machines are being tested at Royal Farms.
