Panera, a fast casual sandwich franchise, has deployed a kiosk at the Fairfax Shopping Center in North Wilmington, Delaware. This is the first Panera location in Delaware to deploy a kiosk, according to a report by the Delaware Business Times.
Customers can skip the line and use the kiosk to order and customize their meal. Panera first rolled out kiosks in 2014 as part of itsPanera 2.0 campaign to improve the customer experience through technology. The franchise launched a mobile ordering app in addition to the kiosks.
Devia Johnson, store manager of the Fairfax Shopping Center Panera, said in the report that the new kiosk is not a response to Delaware's push for a $15 minimum wage. "It's just to enhance customer service," she said.
