MUMBAI, India -- Indian kiosk developer NFK Cyber-Kiosk has been awarded an order to install two Internet banking kiosks from the Indian division of Hong Kong and Shaghai Banking Corp. (HSBC). NFK Cyber-Kiosk developed the concept in partnership with software developer Myriad Communications Ltd. and Design Intervention Pvt. Ltd.
The kiosks, which will be located in Mumbai and New Delhi, are part of HSBC's Virtual Banking Center, which the bank will trial with these locations. The center consists of an ATM, telephone banking center, and Internet banking kiosks. NFK Cyber-Kiosk and Design Intervention also designed and supplied the telephone center.
The Internet banking center was designed by Design Intervention using an IBM SurePos 500 point-of-sale system, and utilizes Myriad's Public Browser Platform and Remote Management System software packages.
NFK Cyber-Kiosk officials are optimistic that HSBC will eventually convert its off-branch ATMs to virtual banking centers.
