Custom, a Parma, Italy-based provider of high-tech solutions for retail, enterprise and vertical markets, has introduced two color scanners, A4 and A6, which use ultrasound technology to improve and speed the digitalization processes, according to a press release. Market segments include self-service, banking, air and rail transport, gaming, logistics, retail, industrial and more.
The A4 and A6 scanners offer high throughput (400 mm/s) and better than average data transfer (USB 3.0 at 5 Mbit/s) to support all applications, with resolutions up to 600 dpi (at 73 mm/s), along with the option of integrating with third-party applications.
The scanners have a jammed/retained sheet sensor (internal encoder), an option of using two motors to straighten out documents (deskew), a paper intake illuminated with LEDs, and the paper feed can be opened completely for cleaning and maintenance.
The sensors can detect multiple feeds (two or more sheets feeding together), regardless of sheet weight and size. The scanners also have an encoder with jammed/retained sheet sensor, according to the release.
The A6 scanner is supported by an MICR head for scanning CMC7 magnetic strips on international checks, and has been designed specifically for applications in "the new age of public transport," featuring the smallest footprint in its class, which enables it to be used for checking tickets, and also has a front intake/top output for compliance with the latest access control systems.
The ability to set the scan resolution (100/150/200/250/300 dpi) and color depth offers a wide range of customization options so that the user can precisely configure the device to suit the application.
