ONTARIO, Canada -- CashCode Co. Inc. has appointed Abe Rolnick as president of Cashcode, B.Eng. M.ASc.
Rolnick joined Cashcode in 2003. He has been involved in the start-up, management and turnaround of several technology companies, according to a news release.
In 1973, Rolnick became a key member of AES Data, which designed the first word processors. When the company was sold in 1979, he became president of Digital Video Systems.
He was a partner at Novacap Investments, and later created a consulting firm to assist new technology companies. In 1991, Rolnick took on the roll of president and CEO of Scintrex Ltd., guiding a complete restructuring of the company. The company was acquired in 1998, at which time he became the managing partner of the Royal Bank of Canada Venture Capital IT Fund.
CashCode manufactures high-security bill validators and currency-management systems for gaming, amusement, vending, retail and other industries. The company is credited with a multitude of product patents and numerous state-of-the-art innovations in the field of cash handling.
