Culver's Frozen Custard tests kiosks for ordering

Nation's Restaurant News: A franchisor-owned Culver's Frozen Custard restaurant in Wisconsin has begun testing kiosks for customer ordering. The company is using Radiant Systems for hardware and location software, and BlueCube for back-office software.
Carlton Larson, information systems director for the 329-unit chain, said self-service is on the way for foodservice, despite recent reports that some major QSR chains are de-emphasizing it.
"I remember similar comments about self-check-in at airports, which is now the standard rather than the exception," he said. "I think that the way self-service is marketed is important to its success."
