Croatian lottery orders 800 more units from Wincor Nixdorf

PADERBORN, Germany -- Wincor Nixdorf has received an order from the Croatian lottery, Hrvatska Lutrija, for the supply of an additional 800 Xion /M terminals. The lottery had already ordered 600 terminals in a relationship with Wincor dating back to December 1999.

According to a news release, Hrvatska Lutrija intends to use the extra terminals to expand its network of sales outlets. Delivery is to be made before the end of December 2003.

Siemens Croatia will handle the order and service the machines. The existing central system was supplied in 1999 by a Croatian partner, who had also carried out on-site adaptation of terminal software and staff training.

The Xion /M terminals are equipped with a high-performance scanner, a color touchscreen, a thermal printer and a chip-card reader. The system unit at the heart of the Hrvatska Lutrija solution will be the Beetle /M from the Wincor Nixdorf retail portfolio.
