A self-service kiosk at the county clerk's office in DeKalb, Tennessee has consistently gained use since its 2012 installation, according to a wjle.com report.

The Driver Services Division of the Tennessee Department of Safety provided the kiosk to DeKalb County, one of a few counties to receive a kiosk.

Citizens can renew or replace a driver's license or state identification card and pay with a credit or debit card.

The kiosk takes the user's photograph on the driver license and performs facial verification with the image on record. The user receives a paper interim document to use until they receive a driver's license or ID card within five to seven business days.
