Costco cracking down on membership card sharing at self-checkout kiosks

Costco shoppers will have a new self-checkout experience as the wholesaler is reportedly going to ask for photo identification as well as the membership card at self-checkout kiosks in a move to crack down on membership card sharing.

The goal is to make sure non-members don't get the benefits and pricing as members, a Costco spokesperson told MarketWatch.

Costco's Gold Star and Business membership cost $60 a year and its Executive membership is double that price.
