FRESNO, Calif. — Continental Prison Systems Inc., which uses customized kiosks and proprietary software to make city and county jails cashless, was awarded Colorado's Pinnacle award for the most innovative new product.
The award came after one of Continental's current Colorado jail facilities entered the company and its cashless products and services technology for this award. More than 30 applicants were submitted for this award, according to a news release.
Continental provides kiosks for incoming cash and a debit cards for outgoing cash, relieving facilities from humans handling cash over-and-over, therefore reducing errors, mistakes and fraud. Consequently, the facility recognizes a reduction in personnel time and bookkeeping issues related to this aspect of managing a correctional facility.
